Meet Jennifer LaNasa Evans
Helping New Orleans Rebuild One Step at a Time
Jennifer LaNasa-Evans, Born and raised in New Orleans. I am a graduate of Finance from the University of New Orleans. I became a real estate agent in my father's company in 1986 and a Broker in 1993. I furthered my education through the National CCIM program for commercial realtors as a designee.
I was a grandchild of a Doctor whose hobby was real estate. My father became a real estate Broker in 1961 and helped develop New Orleans East in its early stages. All of our family property lies in an old commercial part of town. I took on the challenge of redevelopment in 1994 and changed the family property portfolio from bankruptcy to a positive cash flow and added several new buildings. Because of my redevelopment efforts, I was voted President of Gentilly Partnership Foundation in 1998, a Merchants Association. The family commercial property got heavily damaged from Katrina. It is now rebuilt and currently leased.
In the early 90's, I concentrated on fee service management to build a strong base in which to develop a sales portfolio. In the past, I have managed over 600 scattered site units in the city but have downsized my portfolio to less than 100 in order to concentrate more on development and sales. I took a break in 2003 and 2004, left New Orleans for beachfront Pass Christian, Mississippi. I helped The Village at Henderson Point get itself back together financially after many years of bad management. In April of 2005 left The Village and came back to New Orleans and then as we all know the Hurricane Katrina hit in August.
Taking on the challenges of a family business since 1985 and surviving through one of the worst real estate markets since the great depression (in the late 80's early 90's), has given me the experience and first hand knowledge to consult with those who are looking to invest in real estate and their personal future. Hurricane Katrina has ravaged most of the suburban areas of the city. I have spent the last 6 years rebuilding my own property along with helping others rebuild theirs.
I have recently merged as an Associate Broker and now the Sponsoring Broker of HGI Realty in Metairie, LA. Focusing on Commercial Real Estate Leasing, Sales, Development and HGI has a full managment department.
I have also been appointed by our Governor Bobby Jindal from 2008 to 2011 to the Real Estate Commission.
Our local market is very mixed. Parts of our great City is booming while other parts have alot of rebuilding to do and that brings alot of opportunity. I am now in a position to grow the commercial retail business and help HGI Realty move forward. Whatever your needs in Real Estate call or email me. 504 250 9930 Cell or email jennifer@lanasa.com I am a licensed Broker in Louisiana and Alabama.
